The Pub

in Bars, Clubs, and Discos

The Pub, a gay bar, opened at 9601 Lorain Avenue in 1982. The Pub was decorated in “very warm golds and browns…highlighted by a beautiful 1930’s Art Deco backbar.” The Pub’s amenities included “very comfortable cocktail bar, with video games, [a] jukebox, and pool table.” The Pub’s lower level contained the Coal Bin, a separate bar, and a “private movie room.” Buffet-style food was available on the Coal Bin’s “original coal shute” (which had been partially converted for this purpose). The Pub frequently hosted live shows and entertainment.
