Millenium, a gay men’s club, opened at Aquilon (1575 Merwin Avenue) in 1990. Aquilon, a popular club in Cleveland’s Flats district, was one of the first predominantly straight clubs to offer a designated “gay night.” In 1989, Aquilon opened Millenium on Monday evenings. In 1990, Millenium opened both Mondays and Thursdays before switching to Thursdays only. Millenium, along with its host club Aquilon, closed in 1991.
