Good Company

in Groups and Organizations

Good Company, “Cleveland’s first openly lesbian, gay, and gay-friendly mixed chorus,” was formed in 1995 by choral director Karen Weaver. Weaver formed the choral group in order to “gather singers to study and master unique pieces from the choral chamber repertoire.” Good Company made their performance debut at Chevrei Tikvah‘s annual Pride Interfaith Service in 1995. The mixed-gender chorus has since “incorporated as a non-profit organization, released a commercially produced CD, established a regular concert series, collaborated with some of the area’s best instrumentalists, appeared in some of the area’s best concert series, and practically tripled in number.” Good Company has performed at a variety of local and national LGBT+ community events over the years, including at annual Cleveland Pride events and HRC Cleveland Dinners. Since 2001, Good Company has held its weekly rehearsals at Lakewood Presbyterian Church (14502 Detroit Avenue). The chorus puts on roughly 2-3 concerts per annual concert season.
