Female Impersonator’s Ball

The Female Impersonator’s Ball was an annual “gay costume ball” and competition for female impersonators and drag performers in Cleveland. The first annual Female Impersonator’s Ball was organized Cleveland’s Fun Club, a “bi-racial social group.” The inaugural Female Impersonator’s Ball was held at the Gold Room of the Hotel Sheraton (10300 Euclid Avenue) in 1971. Over 150 performers and participants attended.
