Church Bar

in Bars, Clubs, and Discos

Church Bar, a gay bar, opened at 13751 Madison Avenue in 2010. Though identified as a gay bar, the Church Bar’s primary mission was to “create a space where everyone is equals, regardless of gender or orientation.” The Church Bar was best known for being a “space where everyone [felt] comfortable coming” and providing a “chill and relaxed environment” for patrons. Though the Church Bar did not operate as a high-energy “dance club,” it did feature a live entertainment, a jukebox, and a pool table for patrons’ enjoyment. The bar also hosted popular adult-oriented trivia games on Wednesday evenings. Church Bar closed in 2013.
