Asians and Friends Cleveland, a local chapter of the national nonprofit organization Asians and Friends, formed in 1995. Asians and Friends Cleveland is dedicated to “promoting Asian culture in a positive, supportive, informative, and fun setting while bridging the gap between various cultures.” Asians and Friends Cleveland provides educational and entertainment events related to Asian LGBTQ+ cultures and communities.
Asians and Friends Cleveland frequently collaborates with other local and national LGBTQ+ organizations. In 1998, Asians and Friends Cleveland hosted International Friendship Week, an annual event uniting Asians and Friends chapters across the United States and abroad. International Friendship Week “offers fun and information, but also support and camaraderie for Asians and those interested in Asian culture.”
